Der schlüssige Beweis, daß in solchen Fällen ohne das Puerperium die Erkrankung nicht manifest geworden wäre, läßt sich aber ebensowenig führen, wie in dem immer wieder erörterten Falle der Auslösung durch eine fieberhafte Infektionskrankheit. Der bei dieser Gelegenheit von BLEULER u. a. gegebene Hinweis auf den bessernden Einfluß der Infektionen auf eine chronische Schizophrenie scheint uns deshalb nichts zu beweisen, weil, wie wir an anderer Stelle darlegen werden, bei diesem bessernden Einfluß möglicherweise rein psychische, situative Faktoren wirksam sind. Auch bei den im Verlauf von Infektionskrankheiten oder anderen erschöpfenden Erkrankungen manifest werdenden Schizophrenien bleibt der verursachende, oder auch nur der auslösende Zusammenhang unsicher. Allgemein (BLEULER, WILMANNS u. a.) wird die Möglichkeit der Auslösung zugestanden, zumal häufig, wenn auch keineswegs regelmäßig, Symptomeinschläge im Krankheitsbild anzutreffen sind, die wir den exogenen Reaktionstypen zurechnen. Auch dafür werden im klinischen Teil Beispiele gegeben werden. Aber aus diesen Einschlägen, z. B. der anfangs vorhandenen Umdämmerung oder Bewußtseinstrübung, einzelnen deliranten Phasen, ätiologische Schlüsse zu ziehen, ist jedenfalls verfrüht.
